The development of complex artifacts and systems entails effective and frequent exchange of knowledge throughout the development process and across multiple disciplines. This has resulted in the need for support of the creation and sharing of knowledge in a collaborative manner. This special session precisely aims to focus on novel research work that attempts to address this need by bridging two important aspects, namely Knowledge Management (KM) and collaboration. This specifically involves: (1) using collaboration to facilitate KM; and (2) enabling collaboration through KM. The theories, models, methods and tools for these two aspects are of interest to this session.
