Description/Abstract
The industrial revolution has entered the 4.0 era. The fourth industrial revolution uses modern information and communication technology to collect data on operating status and make predictable decisions for industrial machinery monitoring and maintenance, which represents a new paradigm in the organization and control of the industrial value chain. In order to realize Industry 4.0, smart sensors, smart machines, smart digital control, artificial intelligence, supply chain management, and digital twins must be considered, especially edge and cloud computing. In Industry 4.0, the wide deployment of sensor and IoT devices gives rise to the explosive generation of huge and diverse volumes of big data, the new “oil”, that hides knowledge and insights to assist optimal decision-making. However, the world of big data includes a rich and complex set of cross-media content, including text, images, video, and audio. This calls for advanced big data analytic, artificial intelligence, edge/cloud computing, and digital twins technologies, which can exploit heterogeneous big data and make more accurate and timely decisions, decentralized computing, real-time predictable equipment monitoring and maintenance. Cloud/Edge Computing, Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality, Software-defined Networking, 5G and beyond wireless communication, and Robotics lay a solid foundation for building highly flexible, large-scale, service-oriented, plug and play, proactive, tele-operational Industry 4.0 systems.
This session welcomes researchers to submit publication in novel technologies, applications on industry 4.0, the innovation idea about production line methods by using Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), as well. The topics on this session are focusing, but not limited on the following
• Smart Factory, Dark Factory, Cyber-Physical System, Smart work system
• Digital Twin, Human machine collaboration, Digital transformation
• Intelligent Industrial Internet of Things and applications
• Edge/cloud computing in smart manufacturing
